24th January 2004
I believe it has been 2 weeks since my last diary entry. I just decided to compete in the Fitness South Beach Pageant in March so I have been busy with preparations. Cathy Savage has been helping me with choreography. We completed my new routine so now I have to work on polishing it. I just hope that I can have it “clean” in time for my first show! As usual, Cathy has faith that I will be ready. She is a great motivator.
I made three New Years resolutions (something new for me). So far I have been doing well with working on my flexibility. I started taking Bikram yoga and hope that this supplement to my stretching program will help with my splits. I have also been doing very well with my nutrition plan. Last year I had a cheat day once per week. My goal is to reduce that to one cheat meal. For the past 2 weeks I have been sticking to that plan and I feel much better! My third New Years resolution to add ab exercises into my routine has not been going so well. I find that after doing am cardio, working for 7 hours, and going back to the gym for 45 minutes of lifting, I don’t have the desire to finish up with abs. Actually, I enjoy doing the exercises. It’s just that I get so hungry by the end of my afternoon workout that I have to eat. So today I plan to write a formal schedule of my workouts in order to get my ab work in.
This year is going to be busy as I now plan to compete at South Beach, Fitness Atlantic, FAME Canada, Fitness Universe, Fitness New York, possibly Fitness Delta, Fitness New England, and Fitness America Pageant Nationals. My goal is to compete in as many shows as possible. I am trying to be proactive this year and have been looking for sponsors early. I received a 500 hundred dollar sponsorship from a local rehab facility in December that funded my routine music, costume, and Savage Choreography fitness prep camp fee. I have also raised some money at my gym by selling photos to cover travel expenses for Fitness South Beach. Anyone reading this who would like to sponsor me can email me at

Life has been busy but I am having fun! I look forward to another week of training and preparations. I do answer emails when they come. So, keep them coming. I would love to hear from you! Drop me a line at
