Monday, January 13, 2004 (54 days to go!)
Today went better than great! I ate totally clean and didn’t even dream of chocolate, cake, or ice cream once (oh dear, until now!) I was a wild animal working out today… this morning I met with my personal trainer to go through a new strength-building weight routine (we got through legs, chest, and triceps today – tomorrow we’ll go through the rest). Next, I went to my other gym to do cardio (The Young & The Restless was on TV – so that kept me there for the full hour!) I was already so sweaty and tired, but I decided to go do another Bikram Yoga class… it went a little better this time! And during the class I noticed that my body is starting to get a bit leaner and my muscles are popping out a bit more (the shadowy lighting and being soaking wet sure does help)! I don’t know how exactly I had ANY energy to teach my two dance classes tonight, but miraculously I did! I’m getting to bed WAY too late tonight – I really need to get way more sleep if I’m going to be this crazy working out!

Tuesday, January 14, 2004 (53 days to go!)
I was SO sore and tired when I woke up this morning (mainly my hips and lower back)… I think it’s from the yoga yesterday. Nonetheless, I worked out with my personal trainer bright and early! We went through what I’d be doing for the next month for back, biceps, shoulders, and abs. The work-out felt way harder than it usually is… I felt so weak… I think a lot has to do with not getting enough sleep last night. I then went back to my usual gym to do my cardio. I only managed to do 35 minutes and then a long (and painful) stretch session. I ate really well until about 10pm, I just wasn’t full enough after eating my ‘zone’ curry turkey soup for dinner, my body was craving more food before bed! I try not to keep any other food in my home other than the delivery food so I don’t go over my daily food allowance. All I could find was some Raisin Bran and skim milk. It’s a little funny that Raisin Bran is a real, fun treat to me now… not chips or chocolate, but Raisin Bran! Right before bed – not a great time to fill up on carbs, but oh well!

Wednesday, January 15, 2004 (52 days to go!)
My personal trainer had told me to make today a rest day, but I felt I just had to do some cardio… I went on the elliptical and the treadmill for 50 minutes combined. I got enough sleep last night (for a change), but I still feel totally sore and tired. I actually felt so worn out by the end of the day that I had myself convinced that I again needed a bowl of Raisin Bran… I decided that I hadn’t eaten enough today and that my body was begging for more food! I must stop this late-night carb ritual! I’m getting to bed early again tonight – I have a really big, busy day ahead of me tomorrow!

Thursday, January 16, 2004 (51 days to go!)
OK, guys so I ate a big slice of chocolate cake tonight!!! OOPS! This is what happens when I get all stressed out and busy. I ate great all day, but then as my stress level became more and more heightened about a lot of business deadlines I'm dealing with, I forgot about the fish & veggies waiting for me at home and had chocolate cake instead! I did have a terrific workout this morning though... I did chest and triceps:

CHEST:
4 sets of flat cable flies (10 - 12 reps)
3 sets of incline dumbbell press (8 - 10 reps)
3 sets of machine flat chest press (8 - 10 reps)

TRICEPS:
4 sets of e-z-curl-bar skull-crushers (10 - 12 reps)
3 sets of one-arm cable pushdwns (8 - 10 reps)
3 sets of tricep rope pushdowns (8 - 10 reps)

Then I did 47 minutes of hard cardio!

I'm not feeling as tired or sore as I was other days - I think I finally caught up on my sleep! (about 9 hours last night!)

Friday, January 17, 2004 (50 days to go!)
The whole day hasn't gone by yet, but I've had a very stressful morning already... Anyways, I decided to go and workout and forget my problems. Today I did biceps, back, shoulders, and forearms.

BACK:
4 sets of assisted pull-ups (10 - 12 reps)
3 sets of one arm DB rows (8 - 10 reps)
3 sets of machine lat row (8 - 10 reps)

BICEPS:
4 sets of bicep dumbbell curls (10 -12 reps)
3 sets of incline hammer curls (8 - 10 reps)
3 sets of preacher curls (8 - 10 reps)

SHOULDERS:
4 sets of DB lateral raise (10 - 12 reps)
3 sets of Arnold Press (8 - 10 reps)
3 sets of side-lying raise - for back of shoulders (8 - 10 reps)

FOREARMS:
2 sets of DB flexion (15 reps)
2 sets of DB extension (15 reps)
3 sets of stress-ball squeezing (15 reps each)

Then I did 45 minutes of cardio while I watched a strongman competition on TSN!

Tonight I may be going to the movies and I always find it very hard not get buttery popcorn, so think good thoughts for me to have strength!

Sunday, January 19, 2004 (48 days to go!)
OK, my weekend was definitely not the model for a fit life!!! I had a lot of work all weekend and I know that's no excuse, but I ended up barely sleeping at all and eating some crazy amounts of bad foods! Let's not get into the gory details! I'm back to the clean food and workouts tomorrow. I'm getting really nervous about getting my body in the shape it has to be in about a month and a half (there really is no room for cheating anymore)!
