I'm feeling a lot better now that I'm back to healthy times! I had been feeling like I was at a bit of a stand-still with my body progress, but today after my workout, I was practising some dance in a sports bra and my mid-section was looking hopeful! So yesterday I did a leg work-out and planned on doing a nice long cardio and tanning while I was at the gym, but I had a massive headache (probably because of no sleep, stress, and carb
withdrawal) and I had to leave after the leg workout (which was sad).
LEG WORKOUT:
3 sets of various squats (15 reps)
2 sets of leg extension machine (15 reps)
2 sets of lying hamstring curl (15 reps)
2 sets of deadlifts (15 reps)
2 sets of standing calf raises (15 reps)
2 sets of seated calf raises (15 reps)

I made up for yesterday today... after getting 8 hours of sleep last night, I got up bright and early and got to the gym for a good hour of cardio! I'm not doing any weights today. Then I got into the tanning bed too, which is good because I'm so pasty and white and that's one of my big concerns - getting a nice-looking tan (last time I started way too late on the tanning). The eating has been great so far! And I've already warned my boyfriend that we can't go out to eat tonight (or pretty much ever!) Tonight I teach two classes at my studio and am hoping to get working on my fitness routine sometime before or after a class.

My eating went well last night... I got home from teaching and ate my chicken and vegetables... later in the night my boyfriend and I had seen a few Pizza Hut commercials and were almost tempted to order a late night meal of pizza!!! But I was strong and said no no no! I feel good about the past few days! I'm getting more muscular looking, leaner, and my tan is starting to show up now! But, I'm still FAR FAR from my goal! I never got much of a chance to practise my routine, but I practised a few strength moves (and that was pretty sad and embarrassing)... I really have to get going on that stuff! I just got back from working out. I did chest, triceps, and abs, as well as 30 minutes of cardio. I know I should be drinking a protein shake after my strength workouts for quick protein absorption, but I HATE any protein shakes - I've tried to like them many times, but I just can't get them down! I may give them another attempt next time I do weights! A friend lent my an intense stretching DVD that I'm going to try to do at least three time a week, plus my bikram yoga twice a week because my flexibility is a big issue in my fitness routine.

Last night I ate really well until I had two spoonfuls of peanut butter! But that was my only downfall all day. Nonetheless since I can't be trusted with the pb in the house, I gave it to my mom for her house today. I got tons of sleep last night (8 hours!), which was terrific for me! Today I got to the gym by 8:30am, did an hour of cardio and tanned. I'm not doing any weights today as I teach 4 dance classes! One was at 12:00 at my studio, then I teach 3 more back-to-back at Ryerson University tonight! Last Thursday after my 3 classes, the Tim Horton's there was calling my name (and that's when the chocolate cake fiasco happened!), tonight I'll be taking a different route so I don't have to pass that darned Tim Horton's! Tomorrow I have no real work (classes or shows)... I get to do a big weight workout (back, biceps, shoulders, abs), plus cardio, and I plan to go back to my bikram yoga (haven't been for over a week!) - yeah! that's what I call a day of luxury!

Just got back from the gym... today I did a heavy workout for my back and biceps, as well as some abs and 45 minutes of cardio. I saw new big muscles bulging out on my arms during my bicep work which was a good feeling! I see that my arms would be nice and cut looking if I'd just get rid of this darned layer of fat covering them. I haven't stretched at all yet (bad!) but I'm going to my bikram yoga class later and that's an hour and a half of intense stretching! So, I went into the nutrition store near my gym after working out and looked for a ready-to-drink protein drink cause I haven't bought a big tub of anything yet... and I saw all the vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, etc. milky looking types that make me sick, and then I saw MuscleTech's Nitro-Tech in Fruit Punch, Grape, and other fruit flavours (they looked like juice!), it says they contain 45 g of protein, so I got one and I was actually able to gulp it down (it didn't taste terrific, but it wasn't as gross as the milky types)... They only have 2 g of carbs, so I guess I should have some sort of carb with it as my after work-out meal... Last night when I was teaching my classes, I saw some people I hadn't seen for a while and a few of them noticed a difference in my body and told me I had "shrunk"! That was exciting and makes me feel like all this hard work is worth it! Although my body is looking better and better for me personally, I'm getting a little (no, actually, make that A LOT) nervous about parading around in a bikini in the context of a fitness competition in a little more than a month... I don't know if I'll be ready body-wise... Realistically how much is possible in a month? I know I'll be ready for FAME in May, but I'm beginning to have doubts about March... It's not that I want to be perfect and win first place in March, I really just want some practise and a goal before May, but on the other hand, I don't want to be the pudgy un-fit girl in the fitness competition! I will have to make a concrete decision SOON about March!
