I feel terrific today!!! I started my day off early this morning with a half hour run outside. Next I had an unbelievably large serving of egg whites with veggies and even managed to eat some oatmeal (which I really hate!) - I'll post details of my whole diet here tomorrow. I'm following the ideas an article from abcbodybuilding.com (13 weeks to hardcore fat burning - the diet). I'm going to eat my pre-workout meal right now and then I'll go do legs and cardio (again!) Before my classes start tonight, I'm meeting my training buddy to work on strength and flexibility moves for our routines. After my classes I'll be seeing my boyfriend, so today is jam-packed! Since last night I've had a pretty cool natural 'high' feeling, hope it stays for a while!

I tried Glutamine mixed in water (instead of Gatorade or protein drink – which I found way too gross), I wouldn't say it's easy to down, but I'm trying to get used to it! My eating was totally good yesterday and I felt like I was high all day! Actually a student of mine asked me if I was on speed after I had drilled some bellydance steps in class last night! No one showed up for my second class, so I was stuck at my studio waiting for my boyfriend to pick me up for about 2 hours... which gave me the perfect opportunity to work on ideas for my fitness routine and practise walking and posing in THOSE DARNED shoes! By the time me and my guy got to my place and had eaten dinner, I was SO tired and I just sat there watching King of the Hill like a sack of potatoes! Anyways, I got a pretty OK night of sleep and got up not too early to do my morning run today.
Here is my diet from yesterday:
8:00 - 8:30am - 30 minutes run
8:30am
- 1 cup egg whites (with 1/2 a red pepper and 8 slices of mushrooms)
- 1 cup oatmeal
- 1/2 cup applesauce
- glutamine, chromium, green tea
12:15pm
- chicken breast
- 2 cups of lettuce and cucumber (with 1/2 tbsp. Udo's oil, 1/2 tbsp. vinegar)
- 1/2 potatoe
12:30 - 2:15pm - WORK-OUT (& tan!!!)
2:30pm
- 1/2 Nitro-Tech protein drink
- 1 tbsp. Gatorate
- glutamine & chromium
6:00pm
- chicken breast
- 1 tbsp. Udo's oil
10:00pm (I know, too late, but that's when I got home!)
- sole stuffed with scallops and crab meat
- 2 cups mixed boiled veggies
12:15am
- 1/2 Nitro-Tech protein drink
calories = 1653 (too low... I was aiming for 1900!)
40 g fat (22%)
133g carbs (29%)
198g of protein (49%)
It's funny, I find it hard to get enough calories in when I'm eating all these low calorie foods, and also because I don't love these foods so much so I don't care to eat a lot of them! I used to hear fitness-types say 'I didn't get enough calories today', and I would always think, wow, how could that be a problem?... but I'm starting to understand now! I'll be eating meal #2 soon, then it's off to the gym for chest, tris, and cardio!

Yesterday's eating went pretty good, but I ate even less calories than the day before! I don't know how I'll be upping them! I was trying to do some calorie cycling and have high and low days to keep my body guessing, but I don't know how I'll have anything but low days eating only really healthy foods! I also didn't want to drop my calories so dramatically cause I don't want my body getting nervous and holding onto fat! Anyways here was my day yesterday:
8:30am - ran for 20 minutes before breakfast
9:15am
- 1 cup egg whites (with 1/2 red pepper and mushrooms)
- oatmeal
- 1/2 cup applesauce
- glutamine, chromium, multi-vitamin, green tea
12:15pm
- 1 chicken breast
- 3 cups of lettuce and peppers (with tsp. Udo's oil & vinegar)
12:30 - 2:15 - WORK-OUT
2:30pm
- 1/2 Nitro-Tech protein drink
- 2 tsp. Gatorade - glutamine - chromium
6:30pm
- small chicken breast
8:40pm
- sole (stuffed with scallops & crab meat)
- 2 cups of veggies (tsp. Udo's oil)
11:00pm
- 1/2 Nitro-Tech protein drink
1563 calories
29g fat (17%)
137g carbs (31%)
202g protein (53%)
I weighed myself at the gym yesterday, and I'm down to 149lbs! This was a great feeling, as I've been over 150 for quite sometime! My goal for FAME is to be 135, so that's 14 more pounds to go!!! It seems do-able now! Today is my day off from working out. Thank goodness, cause I'm sore all over! Yesterday, I did two workouts for myself, then went to my studio and ended up doing two more cardio workouts in classes I teach! I was really tired last night, that's for sure!

I stopped eating fruit Monday (except the applesauce with my oatmeal - cause I hate oatmeal and I need something to mask the taste), but today, I tried having some strawberries with my post workout protein drink, which was amazing cause I absolutely LOVE fruit - I think it's the only healthy food that I actually like a lot! We'll see how it goes! I'm still having the problem of not getting enough calories in... actually it's lower and lower every day! I'm not hungry at all or tired (except late at night after all my classes and crazy day), but I just don't want to not get enough calories, I can't figure out how to get more in (I don't feel I could possibly eat much more than I am currently!)
here's my day of eating from yesterday:
8:30am
- 1 cup skim cottage cheese
- oatmeal
- unsweetened applesauce
- chromium, multivitamin, glutamine, green tea
11:45am
- chicken breast
- 3 cups of lettuce and red pepper (with 1 tsp. Udo's oil and vinegar)
3:00pm
- chicken breast
- 1 cup broccoli
6:00pm
- 1/2 bottle Nitro-Tech protein drink
10:30pm
- sole stuffed with scallops & crab meat
- 2 cups of broccoli
12:00am
- 1/2 cup skim cottage cheese
1451 calories
28g of fat (18%)
105g carbs (25%)
202g protein (57%)
See, good percentages of fat, carbs, and proteins, but even less calories!!! What to do?
Today was great! I did my before breakfast run for 30 minutes, got a lot of housework and laundry done, taught a terrific noon-time class at my studio, had a nice hard shoulder, forearm, abs, more cardio (30 mins.) workout at the gym, now I'm dashing off to teach my two dance classes at Ryerson! I cannot believe how good my eating has been for so long! I'm so not naturally a healthy eater, so it's a great surprise!

The timing for my meals today got a little weird because I had a different type of day than usual... I ended up working out late at 4:00 (which was not fun - too busy at the gym!) I didn't eat my usual pre-workout meal (it was a little smaller) and it really threw me off at the gym... I wasn't as strong with the weights and I felt a bit shaky about 25 minutes into my cardio, so I left for home to have my protein drink and a rice cake with peanut butter (haven't had that for a while - and don't plan to again, but I felt I needed something solid cause of my shaky-ness). I'm sure my calories will be up a little for today cause I've had some peanut butter, and I'm going out tonight... I will still be eating healthy though (chicken and salad probably). So, I'm down to 147 pounds! Yeah!
Here is my day yesterday:
8:15am - 30 minute run before breakfast
9:00am
- 1 cup egg whites (with 1/2 red pepper)
- 1 pkg. regular oatmeal
- applesauce
- glutamine, chromium, green tea
12 - 1pm - teach dance class
2:00pm
- chicken breast
- 3 cups of salad (with Udo's oil & vinegar)
2:30 - 4:00pm - WORK-OUT at gym (strength & cardio)
4:14pm
- 1/2 Nitro-Tech protein drink
- strawberries
- glutamine, chromium
6 - 7pm teach dance class
7:10pm
- 1/2 cup skim cottage cheese
- tiny (two-bite) piece of chicken breast
7:15 - 8:15pm - teach dance class
10:00pm
- sole stuffed with scallops and crabmeat
- 2 cups of broccoli
12:20am
- 1 licorice stick (small oops!)
- 1/2 cup skim cottage cheese
1360 calories
24g of fat (16%)
122g of carbs (31%)
173g of protein (53%)
still low in calories! Oh well!
