Monday, March 22. 2004
The weekend was not perfect eating wise, but it wasn't terrible either (days were clean, nights a little sloppy). Today has been totally right on. I went to see my personal trainer to get a new workout routine for my lean-out phase and she killed me with legs, chest, triceps, and shoulders today. Tomorrow we will be going through biceps, back, and core. It's always great to be inspired and motivated by someone else every now and then! 

Today, I also picked the fabric for my bikini and brought it to a costume-maker. I wanted to make my bikini a bright turquoise, but there weren't any really cool fabrics with glitter in them in that colour, so I went with my second choice - RED!!! Tonight, I think I'll only be teaching one class at my studio, so after that I will get to choreographing my routine!!! 

Oh, on Friday, I received the videos from last year's FAME competition that I had ordered, I still haven't watched the whole thing, but I did get to see my two routines and I looked FAT!!! Not that I was really trying to have the best body since I didn't enter any physique-type competition (it was just the routine element), but still, I looked yucky!!! I guess I've gained quite a bit more muscle since then, now I just need to lose this nasty fat! I can't wait to watch the fitness model section because I missed most of that as I was busy getting ready backstage while that was happening.

Yesterday I was feeling awful, bloated, and just plain fat, but today I'm feeling pretty much back to normal! I started this morning with a 57 minute run around the neighbourhood which was nice and long! Then I went to have my second session with my personal trainer (killer!), the rest of the day will be all WORK, WORK, WORK for me now! I managed to get my calories up to 1872 for yesterday, but it was because of bad things (well, not bad things, but not totally clean things - oatmeal to-go bar <I LOVE these too much>, peanut butter, and some jelly candies)... here it is: 

before breakfast 33 minute run 

8:00am 
- 1 cup egg whites with mushrooms and red pepper 
- oatmeal 
- applesauce 
- glutamine, chromium, multivitamin, green tea 

9:30 - 10:45am - weight workout 

11:00am 
- 1/2 bottle of Nitro-Tech protein drink 

12:30pm 
- chicken breast with mustard 
- salad with Udo's 
- a few jelly-type candies!!! 

3:00pm 
- turkey burger (no bun, just mustard) 
- 10 asparagus spears 

6:00pm 
- 1/2 cup skim cottage cheese 
- oatmeal to-go bar 
- 1 1/2 tbsp. peanut butter 

6:30 - 8:30pm - Teach dance classes 

9:30pm 
- sole stuffed with crabmeat and scallops 
- 8 asparagus spears 
- 1/4 cucumber 
- applesauce (oops!) 

1872 calories 
55g of fat (26%) 
172g carbs (35%) 
181g of protein (39%) 

So, it wasn't perfect, but I was just happy I didn't go wild and have a slice of cake or two or three cause I've been feeling like I was falling off the good-eating wagon this past weekend and I didn't want that to happen!!! But now I feel renewed strength (especially after watching more of the FAME video from last year, I got to the fitness model search section now and it's totally motivational!)

Well, yesterday I had quite the breakdown... I felt everything was going great until I started feeling stressed about life and how I never have enough time in the day to get ahead with my business, life, etc. then I ate a lot of garbage (including a big chocolate cupcake!!!) I felt SO awful about it after that I went to the gym after all my classes and did an extra hour of cardio!!! Unfortunately I don't find cardio really erases eating mistakes (it really should - calories in and calories out, right?), but I know I used to work out like a mad-woman and I never lost weight until I fixed my eating! But, I felt a bit better after doing the extra cardio anyways. I just had a protein shake before bed. This morning I slept in a bit, which was nice because I haven't caught up on my sleep for a while. I went for a 52 minute run, ate a nice healthy breakfast, then my mom came to the gym with me for a weight workout (which was fun!) Tonight I have to teach a million classes! Total healthy eating from now on! I feel a bit better today - my perspective on life is a little more positive than it was yesterday!

I'm feeling a lot better now, and my eating has been back on track. The only thing that's getting me down now is that I've injured my achilles tendon (I guess from too much pounding the pavement for too long in my morning outdoor runs!) I can barely walk today (never mind run!) I did get to the gym to do some weights, then I couldn't pass up a bit of cardio, so I did some light elliptical and I actually felt a little better after that... I have to teach a hardcore boot camp class at my studio tonight, so I don't know exactly how I'll be making it through that! 

So, now I guess I'll post my diet from yesterday: 

8:00am - 52 minute run 

9:00am 
- 1 cup egg whites (with mushrooms and red pepper)

- 1/4 cucumber 

6:30 - 10:00 - teach exercise & dance classes 

10:30pm 
- extra lean ground turkey burger (no bun, just mustard)

- 3 cups broccoli, 2 spears of asparagus 
- 1 tbsp. peanut butter 

1768 calories 
46g fat (24%) 
141g carbs (25%) 
217g protein (50%) 

I know my last meal was HUGE, but I hadn't eaten since 6pm (and even that was just a 1/2 protein drink and a bit of cucumber!) and I had killed myself teaching all night! My calories were right where I want them to be! 

I weighed myself and I took my measurements... good news! First of all I'm back to 145lbs (I had gone up a bit this past week), AND, since February 1st I lost 2 inches around my hips, 1 inch around my waist, and almost 2 inches around my bust (this one is a sad one, as I don't have enough in this area to start with!) My legs and arms are all the same. My goal for this Friday was to be down to 142, but I'm trying to just be happy that I'm still at 145, rather than putting more on!

Today, I'm so excited because my ankle/leg is feeling a lot better! I'm going to try to take it easy today with the cardio because I need it to be fully healed by tomorrow (I thought I might have to cancel the exercise classes I teach tomorrow!) I'm just off to teach a noon-time dance class I teach at a workplace downtown and then I plan to go to the gym to do some weights and maybe a bit of cardio (on the elliptical machine). Tonight I have off from everything, so me and my guy will be going out somewhere (I haven't seen him for almost a week cause we've both been working too much!)

My carbs have been a little higher than they were about a week ago lately, I'm going to try to get them down a little bit in the future I think, but I feel pretty good about how my eating is going (for me personally!)
